A couple minutes with Project Gutenberg and I Write Like shows that Mark Twain writes like Mark Twain, Jane Austen writes like Edgar Allen Poe, P. G. Wodehouse writes like Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens writes like Jack London, Frederick Douglass and Emily Brontë write like James Joyce, and Henry James writes like Vladimir Nabokov.

That’s right — no female or non-white writers have anything like an identifiable style. Only white males.

Addendum: Charles W. Chesnutt writes like Mario Puzo, Paul Laurence Dunbar writes like Raymond Chandler, Kate Chopin writes like Stephen King, and Willa Cather also writes like James Joyce.
