How I am a terrible librarian/human being:
I spent fifteen minutes helping a woman look up and find resources on Guatemala and consciously chose not to tell her I had spent six years living there, because forging a human connection over shared interests and experiences is less valuable than not talking to a stranger for a second longer than I have to.
