Pretty sure Youtube recommended this video to me because I’m in Phoenix, and Kiana Brown is from Phoenix, and this video was shot in Phoenix. It’s somewhere between “Who Says” and “I Am Me” in terms of tween-pitched self-esteem anthems, and the video made me think of “Sing It” because it features actual teenagers, not twentysomethings playing teenagers. (“Sing It” made me tear up when I first watched it, because I recognized all the kids from the “Friday” video looking older and less awkward and, obviously, shot more professionally, and I’m of an age when the passage of time is itself tearworthy.) The top comment wishes that Kiana would get a Disney sitcom, and there could be worse things.
