4Him, “Where There Is Faith” (1990)

The appearance of “Let Down” on One Week One Band reminds me, as “Let Down” always does, of this song from the debut album of Christian contemporary harmonizers 4Him. The resemblances between the chorus melodies are striking. Coincidental, surely; but because I was a child when I spent a month or so listening to 4Him on repeat, “Let Down” and by extension OK Computer as a whole (which I first heard in the early 2000s, well after having assimilated Kid A and Amnesiac), took on hymnic qualities for me: yearning, transcendental, grace-filled, healing.
