Eazzy ft. Jupiter, “Go Wind” (2012)
Eazzy is a Ghanian rapper who reminds me a bit of Rye Rye, though that may just be her haircut. Like a lot of modern African pop, it’s as indebted to the Caribbean as to the U.S. — dancehall and hip-hop aren’t necessarily considered different traditions in a lot of the world. I liked this song a lot, and the video even more, but I was worried about making the list too Africa-heavy at the expense of the rest of the globe.
