Answer Time:

Find me a plurality of supposedly general-interest year-end albums lists that have a lot of jazz or classical on them, and I’ll be convinced. Of course jazz and classical audiences both privilege the long-play format for playback, but given the ease and availability of streaming both studio and live performances, that should change sooner rather than later — performance is more important to both traditions than recording.

Of course I listen to anything I’m writing about several times — but I haven’t returned to that record since, except as individual songs work their way into regular rotation.
